Vinyl floors are composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and can be made in homogeneous or in heterogeneous construction. Heterogeneous vinyl flooring is made up of multiple layers of PVC. The top layer is made up of PUR reinforcement (for easy maintenance) second layer is of pure PVC transparent wear layer (gives very high resistance to abrasion). The third layer is made up of glass fibre non woven reinforcement (for excellent dimensional stability). The last layer is made up of solid homogenous calenderer sheet that optimizes resistance to tear. Homogenous vinyl flooring is a single piece of PVC.
